Lantern Making Contest (Made from recylced materials)
  • First Prize: ECE
    "The True Meaning of C2"
    The lantern was made from recycled C2 bottles. The ECE students chose to conceptualize the caption found in the C2 bottles which is "cool and clean:.
  • Second Prize: Math Club, College of Engineering
    "Native Parol"
    In doing the lantern, the students focused on the nativity of Jesus Christ. Fresh coconut leaves were used to symbolize the beauty of nature given by God, the rope symbolizing the chain of love shared by one another' and the coconut shells, symbolizing the hands of Jesus Christ.
  • Third Prize: EE
    "Parol Memorabilia"
    A group of students spend a 3-day vacation in Calatagan, Batangas. They conceptualized the lantern thru the richness of the native resources found in the land of Calatagan, Batangas, which is the coconut tree.
