The National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) is the Philippines ’ first and only cheerleading competition that employs American rules and regulations. The annual event, which started in 2006, is modeled after the US competitive cheereleading competitions. It is the only Philippine cheerleading organization to date that has brought in American Judges in its competitions as well as its Camps and training sessions.
The NCC’s aim is to bring together the best of the best in a National tournament. The NCC finals are based on qualifying tournaments organized by the NCC. The NCC has since ventured into regional competitions in the Philippines . In 2008, over 30 teams from North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao competed in qualifying competitions.
Among CCP’s achievements in the field of Cheerleading are: 2006— Runner up to UP 2007—National Champion (UP was runner-up) 2008—National Champion 2009—4th placer in the National Championship but won the World Cup Championship in Brisbane , Australia to be the Asia–Pacific Regional Grand Champion. 2010—National Champion.
The 5 top winners among 14 competitors in the Finals were: 1st - Central Colleges of the Philippines (314.5) 2nd – University of the Cordilleras (312.5) 3rd - University of Perpetual Help Dalta System (284) 4th - De La Salle University (274.5) 5th- Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan (269.5)
