Special College Objectives:

  • Included in the training are steps to enable the clinician to be able to practice medical ophthalmology.

  • To raise the level of competence of the alumni by encouraging them to pursue a lifelong passion for continuing optometric education.

  • To improve the optometry profession through educational, legislative and interprofessional undertakings.

  • Inclusion of pharmacology and ocular pharmacotherapeutics in the optometry curriculum to prepare the optometrist for medical ophthalmology practice.

  • Foster exchange of optometric ideas in an environment that encourages excellence in the field of optometry.
